This one year program consists of 3 courses that are 12 weeks each.
Each course can also be taken independently. Thus, allowing students to enroll at the beginning of any of the courses. The competencies in this program are aligned with the California Career Technical Education Model Curriculum Standards.
This program includes instruction in conception of ideas for newspaper or magazine ads, posters, brochures, mailers and catalogs; preparation of camera-ready art for the printing method style; and employability skills.
This program will provide students with the technical instruction and practical experience in workplace safety, scanning, graphic formats, color applications, utilizing graphics software, composition and writing for the Internet, proofreading and editing techniques, electronic publishing, web page creation and designing accessible websites. Students will become fluent with multiple programming languages, including HTML, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, WordPress, Team Viewer and Screencast-O-Matic. Instruction also includes resource management and employability skills.
At the end of each 12-week course, students will receive a course certificate of completion. At the end of the year program, students will receive an Introduction to Graphic Arts & Multi-Media Certificate and they will also be Eligible to apply for the Adobe Certified Expert Web Specialist Certification.
There are no prerequisite courses for this program.
Courses may be taken in any order.
Students will learn photography, graphic design, and illustration using industry-standard tools such as Photoshop and InDesign. Students will end up with a marketable portfolio.

Students will learn the popular web development tool known as WordPress, creator of 70% of the world’s websites and a very sought after skill.

Students will learn the power of storytelling using the camera and video editing tools like Adobe Premiere and Adobe Audition. You will also learn the filmmaking process.
